Registration is open. Save your spot now and receive all retreat details by email.
What to expect
This is not a conference with back-to-back talks. It is a protected container for your writing, with just enough structure to keep you moving and just enough community to keep you connected.
- Two full days of structured, protected writing time
- Peer feedback and exchange with other scholars
- Short input sessions on writer mindset and sustainable productivity
- A calm, focused environment away from email and admin
- Optional follow-up accountability after the retreat
Who it's for
PhD students, postdocs, and faculty who have a writing project they want to finish — or make serious progress on — before August ends. Whether it is a chapter, an article, a grant proposal, or a book section, the retreat gives you the time and structure to move it forward.
Dates
13–14 August 2025
Two full days, online.
A rough rhythm for both days
The exact timings will be shared with registered participants. Each day balances focused writing with short, energising group moments.
Morning
Opening check-in, goal-setting for the day, and a first focused writing block.
Midday
A longer writing sprint with optional breakout rooms for peer exchange.
Afternoon
Short input session on mindset or productivity, followed by another writing block.
Closing
Reflection, progress share, and a gentle commitment for the evening or next day.
Questions you might have
Do I need to have a finished draft to join?
Not at all. The retreat works for people at different stages — those drafting, revising, or trying to finalise a piece. You just need a project you want to move forward.
Will I be on camera all day?
No. We use cameras during check-ins and short sessions, but the writing blocks are quiet, focused time. You can work in whatever setup helps you concentrate.
What if I can only make part of the retreat?
The retreat is designed as a two-day experience, so full attendance gives the best results. If you have a scheduling conflict, get in touch and we can discuss whether a partial ticket makes sense.
